What is Auto LPG (AutoGas)?
LPG used in motor vehicles is called Auto LPG (or known by comman name as ‘Autogas’).
Auto LPG is a clean, high octane, abundant and eco-friendly fuel. It is a mixture of petroleum gases like propane and butane. It is obtained from natural gas through fractionation and from crude oil through refining. Auto LPG is widely used as a "green" fuel, as its use reduces CO2 exhaust emissions by around 15% compared to petrol. Its advantage is that it is non-toxic, non-corrosive and free of tetraethyllead or any additives, and has a high octane rating. It burns more cleanly than petrol or fuel-oil and is especially free of the particulates present in the latter.
In normal conditions, LPG is a gaseous material but it is often stored under pressure that turns it into a liquid. This makes it very easy to transport, one of the many advantages of LPG over other energy sources. Hence LPG can be easily condensed, packaged, stored and utilized as as a petrol alternative to fuel internal combustion engines.
Gas prices, aren't they crazy? It's so expensive that rats are carpooling in from New Jersey.
